Bio

Dr. Madhulika Mhatre is a consultant dermatologist, trichologist and a vitiligo specialist, practicing in the metropolitan city of Mumbai at Wockhardt hospitals. She also consults privately at Mulekar Vitiligo Clinic, Andheri.

She passed her MD with honors (gold medalist), having completed her post-graduate degree in Dermatology from the prestigious Bharati Vidyapeeth University in Pune and also secured a distinction. She went on to complete a one-year fellowship degree in Aesthetic Dermatology, under the world-renowned Dr. Venkataram Mysore from Bangalore as well as a fellowship in Trichology under global trichology expert Dr. Rachita Dhurat. She completed higher training in lasers and aesthetics under the master dermatologist Dr. Michael Gold, in Nashville, Tennessee.

She has been awarded various scholarships- reciprocal Scholarship to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) at Denver, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) at Paris, Asian Society of Pigment Cell Research (ASPCR) at Sri Lanka, World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) twice, once at Milan and Vancouver, and DASIL Congress in Goa. She has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences including the ones mentioned above, having given over 30 talks globally.

She has received the Young Dermatologist award at IADVL Middermacon 2018 along with many other awards for her pathbreaking work on Non-Cultured Epidermal Cell Suspension in the treatment of Vitiligo and other leucodermas and is now considered one of the key opinion leaders in the field of vitiligo treatment.

She is on the Editorial Board of the IJDVL as well as the reviewer for various journals including the Journal of cosmetic dermatology. She has published over 20 articles and chapters in various national and international journals and textbooks and has also been involved as an associate editor. In a managerial capacity, she is on the national core committee of the IADVL Taskforce Against Quackery (ITAQ) and the IADVL Media Cell and has been on the organizing committee for various conferences, including IADVL Dermapractice 2017, Dermacon 2017, World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology (WCOCD), APSOCLICK 2019 and Trichology Updates 2017 and 2018.
