Dr Aseem Sharma is a consultant dermatologist, trichologist and dermato surgeon, practicing in the financial and aesthetic capital of India - Mumbai. He is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital, Sion, Mumbai. He is also practicing privately at Mahim, Bandra and is attached to Mulekar Vitiligo Clinic, Andheri in Mumbai.
He has three postgraduate degrees - an MD, a DNB and an MBA in Hospital Management. He also has a Maharashtra University one-year-postdoctoral fellowship in the field of Trichology, under the world-renowned Prof Rachita Dhurat. He conducted the largest global study on the use of PRP in AGA in 2015, and is on the global team on Minoxidil Sulfotransferase Enzyme Research with Dr. Andy Goren from California, Dr. Rodney Sinclair from Australia and Dr. Rachita Dhurat from India. He is the only Indian on the board of F1000 Prime International and is a part of the revered Cochrane Skin Group.
He has been awarded scholarships to AAD (Denver), EADV (Paris) WCD (Milan), WCHR (Barcelona) and ASPCR (Colombo). He is an invited speaker and Key Opinion Leader for the aforementioned conferences and numerous national and international conferences, having given over 60 talks.
He is an Editor for Hair Therapy and Transplantation, Indian Journal of Clinical Dermatology, and on the review board of reputed journals like Lancet, JAMA, JAAD, JEADV, IJDVL, and IDOJ. He has published 44 peer-reviewed articles and chapters in various national and international media.
He is an alumnus of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He was granted the President’s Commission into the Indian Air Force in 2005 by Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, where he served in the Army Medical Corps for eight years. His managerial roles include being in the core of IADVL National SOP committee, National IADVL Taskforce against Quackery and IADVL Maharashtra Management Council. He is also the ACSI State Convener for Maharashtra and a part of the International Nominating Committee of DASIL.
